Both flaps are designed in an orange / gold color that goes well with the Roadstyle and Unique Forever editions.
The two flaps can be opened and closed easily and conveniently.
No more fiddly plugs that hang down at the side of your car.
If you want to quick charge, you open both flaps by pulling the lower flap. For simultaneous closing, you simply close the upper flap.
The BMW i3 charging flap fits all BMW i3 and BMW i3s with the European CCS Type 2 Combo charging port.
We are proud to say that this product is 100% Made in Germany. This means that we not only guarantee high quality but also have the smallest possible CO2 footprint due to short distances.
The BMW i3 charging port is completely made of polypropylene. This material is extremely durable over a wide temperature range and guarantees a high-quality look and feel.
The seals made of EPDM cellular rubber keep water out.
What is new and has been improved:
- The lower flap has now its own snap fit and will remain closed for sure
- The metal pins are now made of higher grade stainless stelle wich has proven to be resistent against salt water
- Now including 4 screw head covers for the TORX screws
We did also some testing with our sealings and can ensure you that they will not absorb water.
We weight two flaps and put one of them under water for 3 days. The second one we sprayed with water. We used about 3 bars of pressure and kept only a distance of a few centimeters. After that we removed all water from the surfaces of the flap and wiped away all big drops. The scale showed that both flaps were 0.2 grams heavier than before. This is most likley remaining water in some of the gaps.
